I'm Shauna Vaske, founder of Mechanix+ Co. Salon, home to The Ink Lounge.

When I created Mechanix+ Co., I knew I wanted it to be more than just a salon. I wanted to create a place where people feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely confident from the moment they walk through our doors.

To me, confidence isn't just about great hair or beautiful brows—it's about how you feel when you leave. Every detail of our experience is intentional because I believe the little things matter: the warm welcome, the conversations, the education, the consistency, and, most importantly, taking the time to truly listen.

Every guest has a story, goals, concerns, and expectations. One of the greatest things we can do is simply listen. Before we make recommendations, create a plan, or begin any service, we want every guest to know they are heard. When people feel heard, trust is built—and that's where the best results begin.

One of my greatest joys is teaching and mentoring others. It's never been just about techniques—it's about helping people uncover the potential that's already inside them. I believe the most valuable lessons in this industry go far beyond technical skills. That's why I teach the parts that often go untaught: the systems, the guest experience, leadership, business, and the mindset it takes to build a career—and a life—you can be proud of. I believe knowledge is meant to be shared, not guarded. That's why I'm committed to creating a culture of growth, equipping people with the tools and confidence to achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.

But more than anything, my favorite part of what I do has always been the people. Building relationships, earning trust, and helping someone feel seen, heard, and confident is what makes this career so meaningful to me.
